Diesel Mechanic/Technician

We have an immediate opening in our Traverse City, Michigan location for a Second Shift Diesel Mechanic/Technician.

Job Summary

Diesel Mechanic Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and completing preventative maintenance on heavy duty trucks. The ideal candidate will have experience working on Cummins engines.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and complete preventative maintenance of heavy duty trucks.

  • Diagnose problems and repair any Cummins engine.

  • Perform all aspects of heavy duty truck maintenance.

  • Repair transmissions, drivelines and differentials.

  • Install component and part upgrades.

  • Control corrosion.


  • Diesel Mechanic: 5 years (Minimum).

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • Any additional mechanical endorsements are a plus.

  • Able to work alone.

Recycling Facility Sorter

Recycling Facility Sorter

We have immediate openings for Recycling Facility Sorters in our Traverse City, Michigan Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).

Job Summary

Recycling Facility Sorters are responsible for safely and efficiently processing incoming recyclable materials so that outbound commodities are acceptable for sale to brokers and mills.

Role and Responsibilities 

  • Sort and segregate recoverable materials (plastic, glass, paper, etc) from incoming waste.

  • Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into appropriate chutes.

  • Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items.

  • Follow all Company safety policies and procedures including stopping the conveyor belt in emergency situations.

  • Inspect incoming loads for unacceptable waste; remove unacceptable items as required.

  • Communicate with equipment operators regarding incoming loads of waste or other loads that may require special attention.

  • Team Player.

  • Additional job-related duties as required.


  • Experience Working Around Heavy Equipment (Strongly Preferred).

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Physical Demands and Environment

  • Able to sit, stand, walk, twist, bend, kneel, see, talk, hear, lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Exposed to traffic, outside elements, moving mechanical parts, vibration, non-hazardous materials, and variance of sound levels.
